 Lanterne Rouge rides every Tuesday evening. The ride leaves Quincy Park in Arlington, VA (coner of Washington Blvd. and Quincy Street) at 6 p.m. The group rides through North Arlington and McLean and passes by Wolftrap before heading east on the W & OD trail just west of Vienna. Some members will catch the ride en route. After a short warm up, the pace gets animated. Battles for bragging rights are Spring HIll Road (aka "Sprint HIll), Clarks Crossing, the Idylwood Overpass, and the dreaded Powhattan climb. The terrain is rolling hills and the distance is approximately 30 miles.

Lanterne Rouge is not all about riding. It's also about talking smack before, during, and after rides. "It's like a rolling lockerroom," says the club's Founder and President, Seth Turner (aka, The Weasel). "But instead of snapping towels at eachother, we put the screws to each other dashing for the top of the hills or sstop signs."
